Select commodities decline on subdued demand

Select commodities turned weak and prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today owing to fall in demand at prevailing higher levels amid adequate supplies.

Traders said subdued demand at existing higher levels against sufficient stocks position, put pressure on the select commodity prices.

Meanwhile, the state-run trading company PEC has invited global bids for importing 23,000 tonnes of different varieties of pulses to be delivered between September and November this year.

Arhar and its dal dara variety fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,000 and Rs 4,900-5,300 per quintal.

Urad and its dal chilka local also traded lower by the same margin at Rs 5,300-5,850 and Rs 5,800-6,200 per quintal.

Masoor small 3,300-3,500, bold 3,500-3,750, Dal Masoor local 4,000-4,100, best quality 4,300-4,600, Malka local 4,000-4,050, best 4,150-4,250, Moth 5,250-5,550, Arhar 3,900 -4,000, dal arhar dara 4,900-5,300

Gram 2,250-2,275, gram dal (local) 2,500-2,525, best quality 2,625-2,725, besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,050, Rajdhani 1,050, Rajmah chitra Pune 3,400-4,000, China 3,500- 4,000, red 3,400-3,500
