Asian markets end down; Hang Seng slips 2%

The Asian markets have all ended in red. The Hang Seng dropped 380 points (1.8%) to 20,342. The Nikkei slipped 48 points to 10,356.

The Shanghai Composite slipped eight points to 2,995. The Straits Times declined 15 points ti 2,749.

The Seoul Compoite and the Taiwan Weighted ended flat at 1,616 and 7,542, respectively.

The Hang Seng has slipped 320 points or 1.5% to 20,402. The Nikkei has declined 88 points or 1% to 10,316.

The Shanghai Composite is flat at 3,001.

The Straits Times is down over 0.5% each at 2,744.

The Seoul Composite Index and the Taiwan Weighted Index are marginally down at 1,615 and 7,543, respectively.

The Asian bourses have opened below the dotted line.

Hang Seng is quoting at 20,551, weaker by 170 points or 0.8% and the Nikkei is at 10,344, lower by 60 points or 0.5%.

Straits Times is quoting at 2,751, lower by 13 points or 0.4%, Seoul Composite is at 1,611, down 3.2 points or 0.2% and Taiwan Weighted is placed at 7,543, down 4.2 points.  

Shanghai Composite has shed 6.6 points or 0.2% at 2,997.
